I discovered this great frame whilst playing
around with Noelle's great Merlin Gold Frame tutorial...I usually do go
wondering off to experiment and often come up with some different effects that I
like but not always do I remember how I got there. *s* I took note this
time so decided to make it into a mini tute. Now I have called it Opal but I
also think that it has a ceramic look about it...whatever, I liked it. *s*
What you will need.
PSP 8 You can download the Beta version. I did mine in 8 but I am sure that it can be done in 7 too
My EC 4 Opal Frame setting (extract this to your EC 4...Bevel Boss folder)
An image of your choice....OR...you can use one of the ones that I have provided for you. They are all flowers taken in my garden and have been sized accordingly, All three have been zipped for your convenience... MY PHOTOS
Step 1.
Open up the image of your choice...make a copy of this image shift +d and close up the original. Promote this background to a layer then Duplicate it.
Highlight the copy layer and go to Adjust...Blur...Gaussian Blur...Radius 8.00 or whatever you are happy with.
Next got to Effects....Artistic Effects...Chrome and choose these settings with the colour set at #F0D28A.... or try some other shades, such as silver etc.
Step 2
Go to Plugins...Eye Candy 4...Bevel Boss...Settings....'loz_opalframesetting' which should by now be sitting in your Bevel Boss folder *s* ...click ok

Step 3
Make sure that you are still on that copy layer at the top of your palette and with the selection tool, select the center square area of the image. Delete
Invert the selection and go to Effects...3D Effects...Drop Shadow
V 2....H 2...Opacity 88...Blur 2.00 colour Black. Ok it.
Now go back again and repeat those settings but making the v and h minus 2 (-2)
Step 4
Keeping it selected, go to Adjust...Add/Remove noise....Add noise...Deselect.
Step 5
Lower the Opacity to around 63. Merge visible these two layers.
Using the dropper tool...select a colour from the image for the border....I chose #82A997 for mine.
Now go to Image...Add Border....size 20. Now take your magic wand and select this border.

Step 6
Go to Effects....Art Media Effects...Brush Strokes
Again select a colour from your image and apply Brush Strokes with these settings: I used
#D69D88
Step 7
Keep selected and apply a drop shadow...V 2...H 2....Opacity 69...Blur 7.00...Colour black. OK
Now go back and repeat this step but change the V and H to (-2). Deselect and Voila!
All the images have been reduced to 80% and optimized to reduce download time.
Here are more effects that I got through changing settings...in various windows...such as chrome,-...Bevel Boss...Brushstrokes...etc...adding an inner bevel to the final border....just playing around and experimenting
Have Fun! and Email if you have any problems!
