Easy Picture Framing
Using PSP 7
First download these two tiles that we will work with. These are BMP files. After downloading put these in your PSP folder called "Patterns". Make sure you do not change the file extension of .BMP

Now we are going to make a Christmas Framed picture.
Open a transparent image the size of 250 x 250 pixels.
Set your foreground to whatever color you wish, I am using white
Set your background to grey or any color that is not in the above tiles.
Flood fill the tile and add any tube you like
Merge your layers.
Now go to the Image tab and click on add borders. This one is set with symmetric checked and a 25 pixel all around. Yours should look similar to the one below.
Now go to the magic wand and click on it then click anywhere in the grey area. You should end up with an image with ant tracks all around, DO NOT DESELECT THIS YET. LEAVE THE TRACKS.
Now go to Effects, then Texture Effects, then Sculpture. A window will open and you will find the tile you uploaded there. After you have selected it, the tell it ok. It will then put that into the grey area as shown below.
Now go back to effects and click on add noise and the click on add. Set your controls to 25% and at random. Click ok.
Now to go 3D effects, outer bevel. My setting are:
Bevel type - looks like the fan
Width 8 Smoothness 15 Depth 15 Ambience 5 Shininess 5 Intensity 50 Elevation 30 Angle 315
After you have your setting where you want hit okay.
Now go back to 3D effects and add a drop shadow. My settings are Vertical 23, Horizontal 23, Opacity 49, and Blur 40.7 I also use the black as color setting. When finished click ok. Go to Selections and hit Select None to take the marching ants away. Your image should resemble this.
Now we are going to simply repeat the above process but using the second tile you uploaded.
Just follow the same steps, add border, magic wand, click on grey area, go to Effects, textures, sculptures and add the red tile. Add your noise, 3D effect of outer bevel, and your drop shadow, Selections and select none, and presto....you have framed you Christmas image.
You can any text you would like. You can also fill in the text easily by filling it in by going to Effects, Texture Effects, and Sculpture. Make sure you do not delete the marching ants until you are done.
I hope that you have enjoyed as this is my first try at a tutorial. But I have had fun.
